PROFILES IN PRAYER

-How did you find out about St. Jude and his novena?
I prayed to St. Jude a long time ago and forgot about him and what he did for me. Recently, I was going through a period in my life where I was worried about the outcome. I
was in church and opened the misslette, and inside was a St. Jude "card" with the Novena prayer on the back. I began the Novena immediately.

-What was the request you prayed for that was granted?
I did something "not smart," not illegal - just dumb. Had my identity been revealed to others, it would have cost me great embarrassment. I asked St. Jude to grant me anonymity and protect my identity to others. He did.

-What answers or gifts did you receive and were they different from what you asked for?
I think I answered this above.

-What kept your faith strong and your hope alive during your waiting process?
Asking the Lord Jesus Christ to help St. Jude hear my prayers and grant my petitions. I not only prayed to St. Jude, but to Jesus as well. I also asked the Blessed Virgin Mary to intercede on my behalf. I visited the local church on occasions, lit candles, and prayed at the small shrine to
St. Jude.

-What type of praying (example - quiet meditation, deep contemplation, etc.) brought you the most comfort and peace?

Visiting the Church and lighting candles.

-Is there any advice you want to give to others who may be waiting and finding it difficult to stay hopeful?

Keep the faith and believe in God. God is watching over each of us. He listens. If you want something changed in
your life, it is my belief it will happen - if you ask.

Thank you for sharing, Jim and God bless!
