-How did you find out about St. Jude and his novena?
I was raised in the catholic church and had remembered something about a novena. However through the years I detoured from my faith. When I remembered the novena I could not remember how I was suppose to pray it and then I found the St. Jude web site.
-What was the request you prayed for that was granted?
I prayed for reconciliation with a former boyfriend and for the door of communication be opened for us so that we may begin a new relationship. Two days after finishing my novena the door of communication was opened after 15 months.
-What answers or gifts did you receive and were they different from what you asked for?
As I mentioned above I prayed for the door of communication to be opened and it was granted along with some signs along the way that helped me to know my prayers were heard and were going to be answered. I did however receive gifts through the nine day novena that were not prayed for. I found myself overwhelmed with peace. Which is something I have not experienced in quite sometime. I felt joy and strength. I found myself actually excited about praying and could not wait to pray again. I did not find it to be a chore so to speak as in the past.
-What kept your faith strong and your hope alive during your waiting process?
I believed with all that I had God WILL answer my prayers. When I found myself loosing a little faith or getting discouraged I would simply stop what I was doing and say a quick series of Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be.
-What type of praying (example - quiet meditation, deep contemplation, etc.) brought you the most comfort and peace?
In addition to praying my novena which I would visit my church before and after work to pray I really through myself into prayer. And even after the novena was over I did not stop praying or going to the church and praying. I continue to pray and always express my gratitude.
-Is there any advice you want to give to others who may be waiting and finding it difficult to stay hopeful?
Pray...believe...have faith.....and pray some more. There truly is power in prayer.
Thanks for the great advice, G.S. It's a beautiful example of praying with expectant faith.
